For this week’s Missouri Mondays we again stress the importance of registering to vote by July 11, protecting Missouri’s unions and the wages and benefits for all Missouri workers by volunteering and voting NO! On Prop A! on August 7, and finding a campaign to help elect those who will fight for hard-working Missourians!

Here’s the bottom line: We must help to elect candidates who will protect Missouri workers rather than cave to special interests. Republicans in Missouri’s legislature have passed laws that target Missouri workers in an attempt to lower wages in favor of corporations. The so-called Right to Work law passed last session extends the ban on fair share fees to ALL unions, not just the public sector.  This means employees who benefit from union negotiations do not have to pay their fair share fees. The purpose behind this law is to encourage as many workers as possible to abandon unions, weakening the union’s ability to demand a fair wage, benefits, and workplace protections...

Act now to protect Missouri workers! We must spread the word to vote NO! On Prop A on August 7.

The non-partisan Economic Policy Institute reports, “we show that challenging fair share fees in the courts appears to be part of a broader billionaire-financed agenda to weaken unions and shift power away from ordinary workers.”

Republicans in Missouri’s legislature are part of this national fight against hard-working Americans. They have passed law after law that targets Missouri workers in an attempt to lower wages in favor of corporations. The so-called Right to Work...

On this Missouri Monday, our hearts are still heavy over the more than 2,000 immigrant children still separated from their parents.  The public outcry of people throughout Missouri and all across the country demanding an end to this cruel order resulted in an unprecedented reversal in policy.  However, the struggle for these families is not over. The already separated children still remain in holding facilities hundreds or even thousands of miles from their detained parents at the border, including approximately 50 children who were taken to The Villages in Topeka, KS, and there is no clear path to reuniting them.  We must keep up the pressure to reunite children with their families as quickly as possible by calling Senator Blunt (202) 224-5721, Senator McCaskill (202) 224-6154, and your Representative, and tell them to take action now to reunite these families!

Here are some other ways you can help:

Now through Wednesday June 27 - If you are in the Kansas City area, you can dr...
